International Island Music is a two-days music festival which is a collaboration of a full range of local music, as well as international, island music from reggae, calypso and also keroncong.The first International Island Music called “Langkawi International Island Music” has been held in December 2017 at Pantai Cenang, Langkawi. The highlights of the festival are the performances from the islands like Timur Leste, Malta and Cape Verde .
The festival aims to promote island destination through music as an ecofriendly holiday destination and to encourage the local community to keep the island clean and green at all times.
Activities focused on protecting the environment will be organized throughout the day. There is a need to convince the local islanders that their survival and prosperity depend upon keeping the island clean and that the island’s development must be sustainable.
